CNBC Trailblazers

Northam was asked to produce six half-hour episodes of the CNBC international travel series ‘Trailblazers.’ Hosted by Tania Bryer, we travelled the world to discover a city through the eyes of a celebrity. Each local icon introduced us to their favourite hot spots - whether an exciting new restaurant, a unique part of town, or their favourite art gallery.

The Project

Research was key to this project - and lots of it! We delved into the background of each celebrity to uncover details of their childhood, their rise to stardom and their favourite things - everything from Gwyneth Paltrow’s love of Twiglets to Jean Paul Gaultier’s passion for theatre. We then sorted out the logistics - gaining access to their favourite places, creating their favourite meals alongside a chef and getting exclusive behind the scenes access.

The Result

At the end of the series, we had travelled the globe - from Los Angeles to New York, Paris and Beijing. We cooked Gloria Estefan’s favourite meal at her Miami restaurant, danced with Cuba Gooding Jr on Broadway and visited Andrea Bocelli’s family vineyard in Tuscany. This project was a true labour of love. It also led to us being signed up to produce further CNBC series for the network.
