How we can help you stay connected during a crisis

April 17th, 2020

Our team, like others around the world, is grappling with the impact coronavirus is having on our families, our communities and the way we work.

We recognise that businesses are facing new and unexpected challenges and many people find themselves working from home. While self-isolation can be difficult, it has brought people together in unexpected ways - we now meet virtually in each other’s living rooms, we are more aware of families who sometimes appear on camera during meetings, and we are happy to take the time to discuss our own stories as we navigate through this new way of working and living. It’s a new way - a more personal way - to communicate.

Communication is key

Our team at Northam strongly believe that now is the time where communication really matters, and maintaining a strong connection with clients and employees is more important than ever.

We wanted to reach out and let you know that we are here to help. We're hoping our strength in storytelling can help you stay connected with those you are trying to reach. We want to help you tell meaningful, inspiring stories that resonate with your audience.

Here's how we can help:

Filming

While we may be limited in full scale filming, we are not limited in our passion for storytelling and our desire to make a difference. It’s just delivered in a more natural way. For instance, when you turn on your TV today, you will see many shows filmed using smartphones or conference call technology. We can help you create films in this style and use a few tricks in post production to make the audio and video a bit crisper and cleaner. A producer and an engineer will be on the call during filming to help frame the shot and talk you through the process - it’s fairly simple! We feel this ‘isolation TV’ style is more sympathetic and relevant in today’s times.

Podcasts

Our podcasts are still a popular choice with clients - today we just do them remotely! We send the interviewees a professional microphone to plug into their laptops and away we go! As with filming, we will have a producer and engineer on the line to guide everyone through the process. We also work with the client to create a briefing document that includes a script/or key messages, as well as logistical tips on how to get the best out of the recording. Once finished, we send a host link and are able to track KPIs as the campaign kicks off.

Graphical explainers

Explainer videos are short online videos used to explain your company’s service or the relevant story that you are trying to communicate. We work closely with our clients to uncover the best storyline and write scripts / create storyboards for approval. A professional voiceover artist will be brought in to narrate the film and we then create fully animated scenes and sequences to communicate the story. Click here for example

Hero films These are thematic videos using a mixture of acquired footage and animated graphics to tell the story. They can work with or without sound and hence prove popular on social channels. Click here for example

Writing Our team of journalists do quite a bit of writing for our clients - whether it’s a blog, a case study or an article for their website. We work with each marketing team to understand the tone as well as the key takeaways for each project. Click below for example projects: Reuters 'Change Makers' Campaign EY 7 Drivers of Growth

Content strategy As ever, we are still here for clients as they work through their briefs and core messaging. We love the brainstorming process and use that as a springboard to create a bespoke strategy based on a client's needs. We will suggest a suite of assets that will help tell the story and create a campaign strategy to amplify your message.

All our work can be created in various ratios for use on all digital channels. If you’d like any more information on any of the above, or just want to chat through your content plans, give us a call or send us an email.

Stay safe from all the team at Northam Media
